munich-citypass.com covers the two official guest cards of Munich. The Munich Card lowers admission prices; it is a discount card. The Munich City Pass covers admission in full and at some venues lets you past the queue. Both are issued by Munich Tourism and are produced and sold by Turbopass. Both run for one to five days, and on both the public transport ticket is an option rather than a fixed ingredient.

So every Munich visit starts with the same arithmetic: discount or full access, and from how many museums, palaces and tours onwards one card beats the other. We set the two side by side, say which attraction sits in which card, and write down when neither pays off, on short stays or on trips with little museum time. What we publish is checked against the pages of the issuer and the distributor.

munich-citypass.com is an independent comparison guide. We are neither Munich Tourism nor Turbopass. We are not a general Munich travel guide or a hotel portal: accommodation, restaurants and single tickets unrelated to a card are deliberately out of scope. Only these two cards compete in Munich, so those are the two we compare, and we list no provider that has no product for this city.
