Munich City Pass: Prices by Duration and Age
The Munich City Pass is available for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 consecutive days. Every option includes the same set of benefits; only the duration differs. The pass runs from the start date you choose when booking.

There is no separate ticket for children under 6.
What's Included in the Price
- Admission to more than 40 attractions, from the Deutsches Museum and the Residenz to Nymphenburg Palace. At the Deutsches Museum and the FC Bayern Museum, you also get in through the Fast Lane.
- Hop-on-hop-off city tour with the Express Circle Tour and the Grand Circle Tour.
- Discounts with further partners that are not included in the pass.
The public transport ticket is not part of the base price. When you buy, you choose between Zone M, the full M-6 network with the airport and surrounding area, or no ticket at all. The booking window shows the surcharge as soon as you pick a zone; what the ticket covers is explained under Public Transportation.
What a Day Costs
What matters for the decision is less the total price than the price per day. For adults, the numbers work out like this:
- 1 day: the most expensive daily rate, worthwhile only for a short stop with a packed schedule.
- 2 days: about 38 € per day. The second day adds a surcharge of 21 €, the biggest jump in the whole scale.
- 3 days: about 31 € per day, the usual length of a city trip.
- 4 days: about 26 € per day.
- 5 days: about 23 € per day. The fifth day adds only 9 € more.
When the Pass Pays Off
The pass pays for itself once you visit several paid attractions each day and take the city tour along with it. You can only work this out with your own itinerary: compare the regular admission prices of the places you actually want to visit with the daily rate. Which venues are included, and which well-known addresses are not, such as the BMW Museum, Hellabrunn Zoo and the Olympic Tower, is listed under Attractions.
If you only visit one museum a day and spend the rest of the time exploring the city, single tickets or the Munich Card work out cheaper, since it discounts admission rather than covering it.
The pass is not available for more than five days. For longer trips, book it for the days with a packed schedule and use single tickets for the rest.

Questions About the Price
Does the public transport ticket cost extra? +
Yes. The MVV ticket is a paid upgrade, either for Zone M or the full M-6 network with the airport. You will see the surcharge in the booking step as soon as you choose the zone. What the ticket covers is explained under Public Transportation.
Do children and teens pay less? +
Yes. Children aged 6 to 14 and teens aged 15 to 17 each have their own rate, shown in the table above. There is no separate ticket for children under 6.
Which duration is worth it? +
The longer the pass is valid, the cheaper each day becomes: from three days on, the adult daily rate is around 31 € or less. For a single day, it is only worth it with a packed schedule. Which destinations are included is shown on the Attractions page.
