What's included with the Munich Card? +
The Munich Card is a discount card: you get reduced admission at over 60 attractions, museums, tours, restaurants and shops, including the Deutsches Museum, Nymphenburg Palace and the Residenz Museum. An MVV ticket for public transport can be added as an option.
Is public transport included with the Munich Card? +
Only if you add it: when you book, you choose the Card with or without an MVV ticket, covering either Zone M (the city area) or the full M-6 network including the airport. With the ticket, you can travel unlimited within your zone on the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram, bus and regional trains.
How do I activate the Card, and how long is it valid? +
The Card automatically becomes valid on the start date you choose when booking, for either 24 hours or 2 to 5 days. You get it instantly by email and show it on your phone at the ticket desk. You don't usually need to book ahead at the attractions.
What price tiers does the Munich Card have? +
The Card is available for adults from age 15 and children aged 6 to 14; there's no separate card for younger children. The group ticket covers up to 5 people, with two children counting as one person. The group shares one MVV ticket, which is used together with the main cardholder.
What's the difference between the Munich Card and the Munich City Pass? +
The Munich Card is a discount card: you buy the tickets yourself and pay the discounted price. The Munich City Pass already includes entry to many top attractions, some with Fast Lane access. The Card is worth it if you plan to visit only a handful of attractions.
